Ben Lane is saved from being hanged as a horse thief by Frank Jesse. Ben and Frank then meet up with Kelly, a mysterious woman, who pays them to take her through Indian country to a little town to be with her husband. In reality, Kelly is setting Frank up and wants to kill him because Frank killed her husband in a shootout. As the three travel, Kelly attempts to seduce Ben and offers him the money promised to Frank for helping her reach town. Ben is tempted because he dreams of someday having enough money to buy a ranch of his own.
